Is the coating safe for drinking water?

We use food-grade, NSF-approved linings rated for permanent immersion, and the tank is flushed after curing and before it goes back into service.

How long is the tank out of use?

Three to four days for a typical overhead tank, including draining, curing and the fill test. Societies usually schedule it alongside their annual tank cleaning.

Our tank loses water but we cannot see a leak. Is that normal?

No. Slow loss through hairline cracks or a construction joint is common and easy to miss — a 48-hour fill test will show it up, and it is one of the cheaper things to put right before it undermines the slab below.
